Wishing for Summer on a Rainy Day

Next Thursday, I'll be in my first art show of the year. It's First Thursday in Fayetteville, which is an outdoor art walk that's held downtown on the square.  I worked the First Thursday show last year and it was way fun.

Am I supposed to call it "working a show?"  Because that makes it sound a little whorish- like maybe there are dollar bills and poles involved.

So, I really need to figure out what I'm going to be taking to whore out to the fine citizens of NWA.  I also have a pile of unfinished pieces that I need to finish.

But I don't feel like doing any of it.

I just want to sit here under my fake sunshine lights, drink hot tea and listen to The Decemberists sing to me about summer.

Be happy,

  1. Rachel,

You are so funny! I'll look for the sun deprived hot mama standing on the corner pimping her goods.

Good luck getting ready. I'm a last minute kind of gal myself.

  2. sister sun -

perhaps it's when we don't feel like doing it that we are most creative. perhaps when we don't feel like, we just say, to heck with it and drink tea. perhaps i'm just writing to say i love you. yup - i think that's it. so....can't wait to hear how first thursday went.

  3. Thanks, Michelle. Now how funny will it be when they give me a corner booth?

Sister - I was missing you horribly yesterday. Well, more horribly than usual which is a lot. I love you!

  4. We all have those feelings sometimes!
